Fall outfit ideas

Hello beauties, how are you doing?

I just wanted to share a few outfits that i think will be appropriate for the season. Mind you i’m aware that some places are colder than others, but you can always layer up and switch the pieces around.

My style is dependent upon my mood, that’s the easiest way to explain it. I wouldn’t class myself as being trendy, i just wear what i think suits my body type and also what i find comfortable and of course stylish. Did i also mention affordable? Yes i’m not one to spend a whole lot, when there are bargains out there. The trick is to buy pieces that work for you and rock them with confidence. No one has to know what’s on the price tag!

First look is more relaxed. I’ve gone for this soft jeans top with laced detail at the front and folded sleeves, which you can also unfold if it gets cooler. I’ve paired the top with these black soft pants, which hugs the body nicely. To complete the look, these black booties with straps going across the top.

Pants-TK Maxx

I recently wore this outfit whilst i was in Italy and i got a lot of compliments. I wore it to Sunday lunch which i think was perfect. Sometimes we get carried away by eating and this will hide the stomach if you’ve had one too many fries haha. I also loved the vertical stripes, very flattering, even though they’ve said when you’re figure is slender, you should stick to horizontal stripes, who makes the rules? The most daring part about this number are the peek a boo shoulders, it’s added such a nice touch to the dress. Again paired with the Missguided booties.

Sunnies-Tory Burch

I love this dress! Not only is it stylish, it is also quite comfortable and warm. Never mind the slash details, you can always wear sometimes  underneath if it gets a little colder. The fabric feels really nice on the skin, well made.

As you’ve seen in the pictures, i’ve dressed up this shirt dress with some heels and dressed it down with some flats. That’s how i like my outfits, you can go from day to night or casual to glam.

There you have it, a few ideas of what you can wear for Fall. If it’s colder add some tights and a jacket, you’ll still look smashing!

My Island footwear

One of the best things about living in the Caribbean is that you never have to worry about the weather getting too cold, so i take full advantage, by wearing my gorgeous heels or any footwear with my toes out. Don’t get me wrong, i also enjoy wearing boots but it just wouldn’t be suitable in the hot weather, even though we still do haha.

I’m a shoe o holic so my collection is quite colossal, however i’m working on downsizing a bit. In the meantime, i just wanted to share some of my favourites at the moment.

These blue, multi strapped, minimalist ones with gold heels are from Asos, i picked them up a while ago. Perfect height and the colour is stunning. Pair them with a black or white dress.

Comfortable is just one word to describe these laser cut heels which are from Missguided, they are different to your regular black pumps or minimal heels. These add a bit of pizazz to your outfit, because of their stylish, intricate detail, the tassels on the zippers at the back adds a nice touch!

Now i call these the head turner! Colourful, sexy, classy, and oh so beautiful are just some of the words to describe these heels. Betsey Johnson is the brand and i got them from TK Maxx. I’m in awe of them, i’ve received numerous compliments on how pretty they are, i think they are the perfect pair of heels for the islands. I especially love the pom poms on the front, playful and girly.

There are a couple more so if you’d like to see them, click on the video and have a watch. Hope you enjoy, do let me know which you liked. Thanks for indulging me.

Casual outfit of the day

I couldn’t resist taking a photo of this beautiful light i saw in the clouds, i’ve never seen anything like it, it’s almost like a rainbow wanting to form! The beauties of nature, always wows me!

Casually comfortable and warm are the operative words, on cold days out! I tried to keep my outfit as understated as possible, considering i was just going down to the sea side to grab an ice cream, who does that on a cold day? haha. Did i mention i was absolutely bare faced? Not a stitch of makeup, sometimes you have to let your skin breathe a little bit!

Here’s the breakdown of my outfit-

The jumper top is from H&M, i especially love it because it’s written quite big and bold unavailable, insert smiley face! This jumper top can be dressed up or down, depending on the look you’re going for.

My jeans were a steal from TK Maxx, only £12.99. They are very comfortable and of great quality. They are almost like ankle grazers, except just a tad bit longer. Just plain and simple, no rips, holes or distressed details and that’s what i liked about them. They can be worn to work, school or any other occasion which doesn’t require you being dressed up to the T.

My jacket is an oldie but favourite of mine, it’s lined with a little bit of faux fur and on the top of the sleeves, it has a bit of faux leather , so that will definitely keep me warm on colder days. This was purchased at Tk Maxx, i believe two or three years ago and it is still in immaculate condition. It’s from BCBG generation.

Now we’ve come down to the best part of the outfit, the boots. These patent ankle boots with gold zippers at the front, will surely take your outfit from 0-100! I love them, they are trendy at the moment. In terms of comfort they aren’t bad at all, i managed to walk around in them just fine. They might feel a little restricting at first but once your feet get a hang of them, you’ll be stepping and strutting away. They are my favourites for this season, and I got them from Public Desire.

Sunglasses are Dolce & Gabbana, Choker Pull&Bear and my little wallet TK Maxx.

Thank you very much for indulging me, have a great day.

Pro artist by Style essentials palettes

Hello gorgeous people,

I stumbled upon these palettes in Tk Maxx a few weeks ago. If you know me, you’ll know that i won’t pass a makeup brand i have no knowledge of without wanting to try them. Might i add that i’m somewhat of a makeup hoarder!

Let’s talk about these palettes, i don’t know if you guys are familiar with this brand called Pro Artist by Style essentials but i wasn’t. Me being the curious cat had to purchase their whole line without pondering. Usually when i’m trying out a new brand, i’d buy one item and see how i feel, but these were so affordable, ranging from £5.99 each for the blush and bronzer palettes, £7.99 each for the eyeshadow and concealer palette. I wasn’t even sure if they’d still be there when i go back, so i grabbed all.

Eyeshadow palette

I swatched the eyeshadow palette and it was what i anticipated, some were a little pigmented, while others not so much, was i disappointed? Not even slightly, this was purely impulse buying.

No doubt you’ll definitely need a primer or a base of some sort to make these eyeshadows work. The palette consists of 28 neutral shades, so this would be perfect for the nude lovers. In terms of their consistency i’d say they were a bit smooth, they didn’t come off as chalky as i thought they would, just not as pigmented as i would’ve liked, however it’s nothing that can’t be fixed. I swatched the 4th row to give you a clue. With building the shadows up you’ll see a difference, which was what i did in the swatch.

Blush paletteimg_2600img_2463

This palette contains 10 blushers, the row that i swatched which was the bottom row, it would work for women of colour, as for some of the other shades, like the more subtle ones, they’d be perfect for lighter skin tones. These were a just a little bit chalky for my liking.

Bronzer palette

The bronzer palette i’d say would work for both darker skin tones and lighter skin tones, from the swatches i did you can determine which works for you, even though i only did one row,  let’s just say the top row has a few lighter shades, this is just to give you an idea. As for me i tried the darkest shade which is the first on the last row and it worked well.

Concealer and corrector palette

When it comes on to concealers i never discriminate as there are so many ways you can make it work. Now for this concealer palette, you’ll have to build up the concealer, they are not creamy, not even slightly, but it can definitely do the job if you add a bit of oil during application. It has a wide range of shades, including ones for colour correcting. In all there are 8 shades for colour correcting and 12 for concealing.

In conclusion, these Pro Artist by Style Essentials palettes, need a bit more work, if they are to compete with the other brands on the market. A little tweaking here and there would do them a world of good. As i have been using making for a very long time, i know how to make things work when they aren’t the best. I guess if you’re a makeup artist or a makeup enthusiast they are worth a shot, just to play around with, no serious business haha.

I give them a 5/10. Has anyone else tried these? I’d like to know.

Outfit of the day

IMG_2062There’s something calming and pure about white. It is said to symbolise new beginnings, it is reflective and stimulates openness, growth and creativity. It offers a sense of peace and tranquility, comfort and hope.

I especially like white because it’s neutral and you can pair it with any other colour you choose and it also gives that very fresh clean look! It’s not the easiest colour to maintain, so extra care has to be exercised .

Let me break down my outfit for you;

Top- which has a choker neck detail and also a bodysuit is from Missguided, very comfortable material, easy to wear and stylish.

Skirt- Has laced detail on one side, quite soft material, is also from Missguided. Not too short, so it’s perfect for days when you fancy showing a bit of leg!

Sandals- Gladiator style, with studs all over, these are designed to make a simple outfit look more glam. They are about 3 or 4 inches high. Easy to walk about in as they are blocked heels. These are also from Missguided.

Purse- Tk maxx

Sunglasses-American eagle

Arm cuff- New Look

Hoop earrings- New Look

Hope you get some inspiration from this look.

Love, Shaunz xo

Glorious Goodwood

I always look forward to going to Goodwood, the amazing atmosphere, people dressed in their finery and of course the odd betting on horses is such a wonderful experience.

So we were invited by a friend to be in the owners and trainers area (the posh bit), this is where you get to see the horses before they go out to the track and you also get to meet very interesting people.

Now being in that enclosure, of course there was a wide selection of drinks and also nibbles, so a glass of their finest white wine was the drink of my choice. Whilst i sipped on my wine, i watched the horses parade around the paddock and also joined in on a few conversations.

Time to get down to business, and that’s the betting. I am a novice when it comes to horse racing, but it’s fun. There was a kind gentleman who we met that told us to put some money on a particular horse, so we did. We rushed down to the track to watch the horse in action only to be disappointed. The horse fell in the starting stall and didn’t get a chance to run! Great just our luck, here i am thinking we’ve lost our money. Thankfully we didn’t, as they refunded everyone who had placed a bet on this horse. To be honest it was hilarious. That didn’t deter us, we placed a couple more bets and lost but it was the thrill of doing it.

To sum up, it was a classic English day at the races, and i enjoyed it immensely.

Summer look book

The cold shoulder denim playsuit, whether dressed up or down, is the perfect summer’s day outfit. I love the way this outfit looks and feels!

Playsuit- Boohoo

Hat- Borrowed from my boyfriend’s closet

Sunglasses- Tory Burch

Hoop earrings- Newlook

Bag- Nica (TK Maxx)

Sandals- Newlook

The wide legged jumpsuit. If you know anything about me fashion wise, you’d know i’m an avid lover of wide legged trousers or jumpsuits , they give me the early 70’s feel! They can be dressed down with some flat sandals for a casual look or dressed up with heels for an evening or night out. This is such a comfortable and stylish jumpsuit, perfect for days or nights when the weather is warm. Who says slender women should stay clear of vertical stripes? I like to break the rules!

Jumpsuit- Bershka

Sunglasses- Dolce & Gabbana

Bag- Nica (TK Maxx)

Necklace- Aldo

Sandals- Missguided

Now this is more of a ‘painting the town red’ kind of outfit! Crop top, put together with a skater typed skirt. Don’t worry if you aren’t able to see the whole outfit, there is a video on my channel showcasing this and more.

Top- Bershka

Skirt- TK Maxx

Bag- TK Maxx

Earrings- Select

Watch- Fossil

I put a considerable amount of effort into my look books as i like to think they express my thoughts and moods, just my personality overall. It is also a lot of fun putting the outfits together, the best part is someone telling you how much they like your ensemble and also them wanting to achieve similar looks! It is indeed very satisfying.
