Bold Summer Makeup

Hey beauties!

Take a look at this beautiful look i did using the Revolution ‘Redemption Mermaids and unicorn’ palette. The colours in this palette are absolutely beautiful, they are bold, pigmented and blend very nicely.

I’m sure a lot of you may be familiar with Makeup Revolution which is a UK drugstore brand. You can purchase their products online as well as many other makeup outlets, so they are easy to get your hands on. They are an affordable brand, with great quality.

I used those two shades shown above, and they were the perfect combination! To give the eyes a little more drama, i used NYX Brights liquid eyeliner in ‘Vivid Sapphire’.

I loved the outcome, I think this is such a playful, fun look. I hope you like it as much as i do. Thanks for stopping by.

Glow on a bugdget-highlighting palettes

Hello friends, welcome back, it’s been about a week since i last blogged but sometimes we need to step away to reflect and gather our thoughts.

Ok so i’ve been playing around with different highlighters that are more on the affordable side, i’ve often times stressed that you don’t have to break the bank to look good, and in this case i’m speaking about makeup.

I picked these up a few months ago, so i can safely give my honest opinion on them. Let me start off with the LivBeauty Shine Bright palette, mind you i’m not familiar with this brand but i must say i have no regrets testing it out.

It has 6 shades, which are pretty much beige, rose and hints of champagne. This palette is perfect for light to medium skin tones, but also dark skin friendly. The beauty about highlighting palettes are that they double up as eyeshadows so if you think that some of the shades may not pop very much on your skin tone, no need to toss it to the side, just sweep them across your lids and you’re good to go.

So as you can see in this swatch, it can also work on dark skin tones. Beautiful shades that are very nicely pigmented and soft to the touch. Very travel friendly as well as it’s lightweight and easy to store.

This one from Revolution is my favourite! I think it suits my skin tone better as it has a very lovely warm golden shade that always seems to compliment any skin that is dark to deep dark.

Eight beautiful, pigmented, soft shades that range from gold, rose pinks, champagnes to beige. Now this palette is definitely suited for most if not all skin tones. The golden shade at the bottom right is the one i always gravitate towards, sometimes i like to mix it with the other shades. Another travel friendly palette.

I have not been able to put this palette down since i purchased it, Revolution has some amazing highlighters that are super affordable and are of great quality. I have another highlighting palette from Revolution as well that i also love.

All i can say is, these two palettes are truly winners, you get so much for a small price tag! I know a lot of people are big fans of the more high end ones but honestly these measure up in my opinion.

Do let me know what your favourite highlighters or highlighting palettes are and also if you’ve ever tried these before. Thanks for stopping by.

Revolution 144 eyeshadow palette-collection 2017

Hello hello, you have probably noticed by now that whenever i see a bargain of any kind, i’m going to share it or them with you. Today it will be an eyeshadow palette that i saw at a discounted price in my local drugstore Superdrug. Revolution is one of the most sought after drugstore brands, that usually delivers quite amazing products, at very affordable prices. If you’re not in the UK, chances are you’ll be able to find them on Amazon or Ebay. I think this brand has a very bright future, i’ll be testing out some more of their products as time goes by, so i’ll be sure to share that with you as well.

Random colours picked

Now this palette is perfect if you are new to makeup  and you want to experiment a bit or  if you’re just someone like me who’s drawn to beautiful palettes haha. It has all the colours that you could possibly need in a palette. At first i though that all the shades were shimmery, but then i discovered it had a few mattes as well.

My thoughts on this palette, the colours are beautiful and smooth to the touch, however some of the shades are more pigmented than others. Using a base usually brings out the pigments more, so i would recommend that you use a white base for the brighter colours and a black base for the darker colours. I also noticed that the really shimmery ones have a bit of fall out, so what i do is spritz my brush with some fix + from Mac, or any other setting spray will suffice.

With 144 shades to choose from, you’ll never be stuck for ideas. The holidays are fast approaching so this will come in very handy. I believe the regular price for this palette was £2o, and it went down to £10, so you can see why i bought it. Also if you’re a fan of or you’ve used Revolution before then you’d know that this palette going for £10, is a steal!

Overall i really do like this palette, the price point is amazing for 144 shades! I think it is worth it.

A tip, this would make a great christmas gift, so be sure to get it from your nearest Superdrug or online.

Cool toned Fall inspired makeup

Hey guys, happy Monday

Let’s just say i’m more of a warm toned kind of gal, i think warmer tones compliment my skin so much better. It’s great to experiment though, after all makeup is an art!

The eyes were a combination of Makeup Geek’s ‘Graphite’ and The Balm’s nude’tude palette using the shade ‘selfish’ on the lids. I didn’t want the silver to be too harsh, hence the reason for using another shade on top. To set the whole look off and to make it more intense i used ‘serious’ from the Balm on the outer corners and a bit in the crease. The lashes are from a brand called De Prettilicious and it’s a pack of really affordable and great lashes in different styles.

Lips are a mixture of Kiko lip liner in #512, Gerard’s cosmetics lipstick in London Fog and Revolution liquid lipstick in Brave heart, which is a gorgeous Aubergine colour.

For the rest of the face i used Makeup Forever matte velvet foundation, LA girls concealer in Fawn for highlighting and Sasha buttercup to set highlighted areas. Sleeks contour kit in medium, Revolution bronzer in Rock on world and Inglot’s blusher dusted onto the apples of my cheeks. Voila! There’s my cool toned look.

Let me know if you like it, head on over to my channel to see full tutorial.

Bronzed for the gods! Makeup Revolution Bronzer

bronz blog 1

Cheap and very cheerful is how i describe this golden bronzer! My skin has been kissed by the sun it seems, no it hasn’t, it’s all credits to this Revolution Vivid baked bronzer, at a price tag of £4!!!.

Never mind the expensive ones, this bronzer is absolutely delightful and perfect for women of colour, this particular one is called “Rock on world”. Not to fear, Revolution also has bronzers in their collection that will suit fairer or lighter skinned women.

I have quite a few highlighters or as they are sometimes called bronzers in my makeup stash but none of them can compare to this one. It has been my ‘go to’ bronzer since i purchased it, and i have a funny feeling that it’s going to be one of my summer favourites.

What are you waiting for? Run to the store now and get yourself one if you haven’t already, they do go off the shelves very quickly! You can thank me later. I got mine from Superdrug, Brighton UK, i’m quite sure you’ll be able to get it/them online if that’s your shopping preference. Let me know what your thoughts are.

With love Shaunz xo
