Coloured Raine matte liquid paint

Coloured Raine is a paraben and gluten free brand, that’s also vegan friendly and cruelty free. I’ve tried their liquid lipsticks in the past and i was very impressed with the colour pay off, longevity and the comfort on my lips!

The only con i have is that they are a bit on the pricey side, at £15, which is a bit steep for a lipstick, just my thought. Now i usually wait till there’s a sale on Beauty Bay so i can take advantage, which is what i did this time around.

Here’s a little run down on their matte liquid paint:

”A highly pigmented matte finish liquid lipstick in a variety of shades. ” It is opaque and has a light weight feel. It goes on as liquid and dries to a matte finish which is intense and will stay all day . It claims to be smudge proof.

Are they smudge proof? Yes! Are they intense? Yes! just apply two to three coats and you’ll get great colour pay off. Here are a few swatches i did.

This one is called “Classy” it is a pink- tinged white. If you are of a dark or deeper skin tone, i’d suggest using a brown lip liner. If you are light to medium, then just apply it as is and you are good to go.

This is “Whatever” and it’s a true mocha, one of my favourites. Would go nicely on medium to dark skin tones.

Excuse the silly face, haha. What’s life without a little silliness sometimes? Now this shade is also a favourite of mine, i wear this shade all year round. Suitable for all skin tones, the name is “Roulette”, a dark rouge with purple undertones.

Which was your favourite? Check video linked below to see what other shades i swatched. Thanks for stopping by, happy Friday.

Affordable beauty sponges

Beauty sponges have taken the makeup world by storm! If you haven’t tried them out as yet, what are you waiting for? haha. Now i’ve been a fan of them since they just came on the scene, after testing them out i’ve realised that they blend out my concealer like a dream. I know some people use them for foundation application, but personally i think they soak up too much and not to mention getting the foundation completely out when it comes to washing them!

I’ve tried the Real Techniques sponges which were awesome and also some of the cheaper alternatives which also worked well for me. There is one that sits on top of the ladder and that’s the Beauty blender, which are the more expensive ones, hey i think they all have one common goal, providing you wash and take care of them!

Now i stumbled upon a value pack of beauty sponges on Amazon and i wasn’t about to say no, i love a good bargain. These are from Shany Cosmetics, if you weren’t aware, Shany Cosmetics are a cruelty free brand, that’s very affordable with good quality products. I support brands that cater for people who are on a budget but are still looking for quality items, and Shany Cosmetics is one of the brands that answers the call.

Take a look at these beauties, they come in 10 different shapes, sizes and colours, what more could you ask for? They are super soft, and are meant to fit every part of the face. Not to mention inexpensive, coming in at a price  tag of $14.95usd.

This is how Shany Cosmetics advises that you clean your sponges, I use baby shampoo to wash mine, i’ll try this method they’ve shown to see if there’s a difference.fullsizerender

I briefly mentioned up top how i use my sponges, i use them for concealer application, that’s after spritzing them with a little setting spray, some people use water. Then i proceed to buffing out the concealer and also add my setting powder too. They can also be used for contouring as in applying and buffing out contour powder or cream. If using them to apply your foundation works for you, that’s great too.

What are your favourite beauty sponges to use? Thanks for reading, have a great day!

Lush face and body mask

Hey guys,

I’ve found that lately i’ve been into trying different scrubs and mask. It’s a plus when they are made from natural ingredients and aren’t tested on animals. Now i know a lot of you are familiar with the brand Lush, as they are definitely cruelty free and all their ingredients are very much natural.

I popped into their shop and as usual that lovely aroma hits as soon as i stepped through the door, it’s almost impossible to leave without picking up a few bits! As i browsed around, i spotted their face and body mask, there was a wide variety but i had to grab the one made from coffee. I must add before i get any further that i love coffee, one or two cups a day is just right for me, any more than that and i’d be quite jittery, i digress! I quickly put the mask in my basket along with a few bath bombs and made my way out of the store before i ended up with a hefty bill haha.

Of course i tried it as soon as i got home, it has an awesome smell of coffee not in the slightest way overbearing, if you’re a coffee lover, then you’ll find this pleasant. I can assure you that this is one of the best ways to pamper yourself in the privacy of your own home without having to pay an arm and a leg.

Now this mask has a thick consistency, with coarse coffee grounds that will ensure that your skin is properly exfoliated.

To apply it, i wet my hands a little, took out a generous amount a few times and distributed it all over my body, from my face to my feet. I had to keep wetting my hands as it gets a bit dry and it needed water to help it go onto the skin better. I was quite gentle as it is coarse. After smoothing it all over my body, i then left it on for 10 mins, they recommended  you let it sink in for 10-15 mins. Washed it off, which i have to say was a very messy job, as the coffee grounds got everywhere!

Let me just tell you how smooth and baby soft my skin felt, oh my goodness. This mask is amazing, even the day after my skin still felt soft, supple and rejuvenated. I really do like it and i’m planning to try a few more of their mask.

Here you can tell i’ve been really enjoying this mask. Have you tried any of Lush’s face and body mask? What are your thoughts? Do let me know, thanks for stopping by.
