Happy independence to the land of wood and water, the land of my birth. Out of many we are one people, oh Jamaica, Jamaica land i love!
Jamaica became independent on this day, August 6, 1962. Let the celebrations begin! We are known for doing everything big, regardless of how small we are, as one of our old saying goes “we likkle but we tallawah”, we are a small country yet we are resilient, strong and we rise to any challenge.
Even though i’m residing in another country, Jamaica will forever be in my heart. So to help commemorate this occasion, i did a makeup look with the colours of the Jamaican flag, black, green and gold. Black represents the strength and creativity of our people, green represents hope and agriculture of the land, and the gold is for the sun that shines.
Be safe in whatever you set out to do and one love! Best wishes to all our athletes competing in Rio, bring home the gold, make us proud.
